Mt. Shasta in June

Working forward to achieve my distance. Can't wait to start putting in the yellow flowers which will brighten my painting and hopefully make it come to life.

Mt. Shasta in June

I am currently working on a 16x20 painting of Mt. Shasta. I took this photograph last June just north of Weed on Hwy 97. This is a burn area where the yellow flowers have more than made up for the fire damage by creating an awesome site.

My Swedish Rooster

Trying another style of painting for this rooster. A little more realistic. I prefer wild and crazy but this is nice too.

The Swedish Rooster

Today I am working on an oil painting of a Swedish rooster and hen. I have completed the background and will start the rooster when the background is dry.

Today I worked on the background and I believe that this may be the finished product.
Thanks, Susan, for all your help and encouragement. It is definitely different working with such small brushes.

Running Wild

Last week Susan demonstrated how to add the splashing water under the horses. It is getting closer to a finished painting.

Using a new paintbrush called the dagger, I was shown by Susan how to add the tail and mane to my horses. This is my first experience using this type paintbrush and it is amazing...

Running Wild

Ok. The 3rd horse is in, now it's time to start working on the tail and mane. Hopefully my instructor will be able to show me the way... Keep watching for next weeks changes...

The second horse has been completed except for the main which will be added when all three horses are finished. This style of painting is very exciting to me.

Running Wild

Last week I started a new oil painting with a different instructor in Klamath Falls.
She is well know in this area and gives her students guidance on their own projects during a 3 hour session once a week. I am hoping to learn from her the technique to painting realistic horses. Today I was very excited about what I am learning...

Watercolor Abstract

This took 6 weeks of classes at the Klamath Falls Gallery but I think it is finally done.
It will hang in the Klamath Falls airport for the month of September along with the other ladies who took the class. Don't think that I will continue with watercolor as a medium but I learned to create an abstract drawing which was my goal. Finished artwork is 22x30

Abstract Watercolor

I am currently taking a abstract watercolor class from Marion Peterson at the Klamath Falls Art Gallery on Thursdays. She is teaching us what she learned from John Salminen about design & composition. This is what I have accomplished so far. This is my first watercolor painting and my first abstract painting. This week we will learn about filling in the white space left on this canvas.

3rd Horse in my new vision...

Working on another painting using our wild horses as inspiration. This one is also painted on a 16x20 canvas using only a palette knife. This style seems to give me more freedom of expression.

Mystic Pony

Trying my hand at painting a pony which seems to have come out looking a bit like a mystical pony. Original Oil Paintings 16"x20"

Painting of the wild horses in the meadow this past fall. These seem to be a family as they are always together. Original Oil Painting 16x20
